While in the United States, I decided to make fan art from Final Fantasy XIV featuring Sophia the Goddess, who was recently released last September for the game’s 3.4 Patch : Soul Surrender. The trailer of the patch was awesome. From there, the artwork I did was taken from a screengrab during her part. Her design is quite different from what I expected for FFXIV. The giant head still looks the same, while Sophia herself appears to now have metallic black skin compared to her angelical appearance in Final Fantasy VI. She still holds a quasar, but the giant halo in her original design is now replaced with some kind of golden arch. Nevertheless, her design is still epic… which is why I chose to make an artwork on her.
Sophia, formerly known as the Goddess in Final Fantasy 6, is the second pillar of the Warring Triad, most likely representing balance. For the primals of FFXIV, she is one of my favorite primals along with Shiva, Ramuh, Odin, and possibly Zurvan. I love her dark yet elegant and graceful design.
Her battle theme entitled Equilibrium for me is the track to beat since I love listening to it. The vocals are very soft and heavenly yet it is definitely a dark chant when understanding the lyrics.
I finished the work a month after, in Oct. 22, 2016.
